Jung Chang in conversation at 5×15 to celebrate her new book, Big Sister, Little Sister, Red Sister

A rare opportunity to hear the author of Wild Swans in conversation with 5×15 to celebrate her new book.

Jung Chang’s books have been translated into more than 40 languages and sold over 15 million copies worldwide. Born in 1952, she was a student during the Cultural Revolution, and in its aftermath worked as a barefoot doctor, a steelworker and electrician. In 1978 she moved to London, and became the first person from the People’s Republic of China to be awarded a PhD from a British university. Her books remain banned in Mainland China.

Big Sister, Little Sister, Red Sister reveals the lives of three women who helped shape twentieth-century China. A gripping story of sisterhood, revolution and betrayal, it takes us from the compounds of the Communist elite in Beijing to exiles’ quarters in Berlin and secret meeting rooms in Moscow.
