Fantastic Reviews for the BBC Television Adaptation of Bernardine Evaristo’s MR LOVERMAN

We are delighted to share the positive reviews for the television series of MR LOVERMAN, adapted from the novel written by Booker prize-winning author Bernardine Evaristo. The first episode aired on Monday 14th of October on BBC One and all eight episodes are now available to watch on BBC iPlayer

To quote a few, The Guardian described the series as “magnificent TV that will tear your heart open”, while The Independent praised the scenes between Barry (Lennie James) and Morris (Ariyon Bakare) as having “an almost theatrical quality, as the cascading lines of quasi-Shakespearean, dialect-infused speech fill kitchens and cafes”. The Telegraph described the subject matter as “original”, noting the “memorable” quality of Evaristo’s character, Barry.
